Saudi Indoor Rowing Championship comes to successful close in Jeddah

RIYADH: The first evening of the 8th edition of the King’s and Princess Cup Festival concluded on Friday at the King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Janadriyah in an event organized by the Jockey Club.

The festival presented five rounds of different distances and categories, where prizes for Prince Sultan and Naif bin Abdulaziz reached SR700,000 ($186,466) for each round, while the Prince Badr Bin Abdulaziz Cup prize reached SR500,000. Gone.

The 5-year-old Kadar with rider Alberto Sana needed 2.09.27 minutes to snatch the lead of the 2,100m race from Horse Eagle Flight, while the horse Lucanini finished third in the race rankings.

Led by jockey Camilo Ospina, the horse L’Actability topped the rankings with an impressive time of 1.37.82 minutes.

Horse Foden with rider Abdullah Al-Rashed came second in the rankings, while Horse Groom, led by rider Abdullah Al-Agami, came third as Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz presented prizes to the winners after the race.

Perseverance marks the Prince Badr Cup

Ruka mare, owned by the sons of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, won the Prince Badr bin Abdulaziz Cup, dedicated to domestically produced mares led by jockey Abdullah Al Fairuz.

Ruka covered the 1,800 meters in a time of 1.52.45 minutes, while the mare Wadia finished second in the rankings with her rider Mohammed Al-Dahm ahead of the third-placed horse Majoka.

Lagertha Prince tops Sultan Cup

Horse Lagertha Raime, owned by Prince Abdulaziz bin Fahd, won the 2,000m Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Cup title in 2.04.91 minutes thanks to the strategy of her trainer Naif Al-Mandil.

Mare Dorat Al-Mogtara finished second in the rankings, while Afalina finished third as Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz presented prizes to the winners after the race.

Led by Camilo Ospina, Lelah Doroh took the lead and finished the race with a time of 1.39.14 minutes, just ahead of the horse Ibn Toulon who finished second and Harby third.
