Atrangi Re, which was released on Friday (December 24) on Disney+ Hotstar, has been leaked to torrent sites and other networks enabling piracy in different versions in quality and file size. The film, starring Sara Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Dhanush, is a cross-cultural love story set in Bihar and Madurai.
According to a Spotboye report, on the very first day of its release, the film was leaked on other websites including TamilRockers, Telegram and Movierulz. Previously, Spider-Man: No Way Home—the new Marvel movie now in theaters—was leaked online. The first leaked version of Spider-Man: No Way Home apparently appeared on several torrent sites.
In Atrangi Re, Sara Ali Khan plays the role of Rinku Suryavanshi, a spirited young lady who wants both Akshay Kumar and Dhanush as lovers and doesn’t want to let either of them go. The film, which marks Sara’s first collaboration with director Aanand L Rai, is a twisted and complicated love triangle that has never really been explored before.
While Sara is playing the role of a Bihari girl, Dhanush is playing the role of a Tamil student in Atrangi Re. At the same time, Akshay is playing the role of a magician. Praising Dhanush, Sara recently said, “One thing I learned from Dhanush sir is that language is not as important as emotion and eye contact. Dhanush sir and I often read scripts in English. Some people may think that it is of no use as it is a Hindi film, but it is important because I could understand his sentiment and intention that way.”
