Sajid Javid warns ‘single Russian tokap’ on NATO area will be an act of war – UK Politics Live

Good morning. Russia launched missile attack over the weekend A military base in western Ukraine at least 15 miles from the border with Poland, The strike has raised fears of an escalation of the conflict, and this morning Sajid JavidoGiving an interview on behalf of the government this morning, the health secretary and minister said that if a “one Russian cap” move was put on NATO territory, it would be considered an act of war. He told the TODAY program this morning:

We have made this very clear to the Russians even before the start of this conflict. Even if a single Russian did step into NATO territory, it would be considered an act of war.

But Javid also said he thought a Russian attack on NATO territory was “very unlikely”.

This is not the first time that the UK government’s messages have coincided with Washington’s. What is this President Biden said on Twitter last weekend.

Let me be clear: We will defend every inch of NATO territory with the full force of a united and strong NATO.

But we will not fight a war against Russia Ukraine,

The direct conflict between NATO and Russia is the Third World War. And something that we should try to stop.

I try to monitor comments (BTL) down the line but it’s impossible to read them all. If you have a direct question, include “Andrew” somewhere in it and I’m more likely to find it. I try to answer questions, and if they are of general interest, I’ll post questions and answers above the line (ATL), although I can’t promise to do this for everyone.

If you want to get my attention quickly, maybe it’s better to use Twitter. I’m on @AndrewSparrow,
