Sabina Nessa: 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder

The Metropolitan Police said a 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering elementary school teacher Sabina Nessa.

The 28-year-old is suspected of being murdered as she passed through Cater Park in south-east London, which should have been a five-minute journey from her nearby home to the pub, at around 8.30am last Friday. His body was found the next day in the park.

The Metropolitan Police said the man was arrested at an address in Lewisham, south east London, and is still in custody. Detectives have also released pictures of a person they want to talk to and the vehicle they are looking for.

Images of the man, taken from CCTV, show him walking into Peglar Square in the SE 3 area of ​​London, the evening Nessa was attacked.

Police released an image of a silver vehicle they believe the man had access to, which was also captured in the Peglar Square area. The weather is urging anyone and anyone who has identified the vehicle to contact immediately.

DCI Neil John, Met Specialist Crime Command, said: “Our team is working tirelessly to find the person responsible for Sabina’s murder and this includes an extensive CCTV trawl, which is ongoing.

“We would ask anyone – particularly those in Kidbrook and the wider area of ​​Lewisham and Greenwich – to look at these images carefully to check whether you know who this man is or have seen him in recent days. .

“Any information about his identity or whereabouts may be important to our investigation, so we are asking you to share this image far and wide to ensure that as many people as possible see it. “

A 40-year-old man, who was earlier arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released under further investigation.

The Kidbrook community has organized a candle lit vigil at Pegler Square at 7pm on Friday to remember Nessa.
