Punjab Chief Minister announces research center on three Hindu epics, says will do PhD on Mahabharata

His eyes are fixed on the 2022 assembly elections, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi, on Sunday announced setting up of a special center for research on three Hindu epics – Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita – besides allocating Rs 10 crore for the Brahmin Wellbeing Board. The announcements were made by Channi while laying the foundation stone of a state-of-the-art Bhagwan Parshuram Taposthal at Phagwara in the presence of cabinet ministers Rana Gurjit Singh and Bharat Bhushan Ashu.

In addition, the Punjab Chief Minister also announced a budget provision of Rs 2 crore for Bhagwan Parshuram Peeth at Punjabi University, and also dedicated a chair in the name of Bhagwan Parshuram at Punjabi University, Patiala, for which the state would provide Rs 2 crore. Will do annual grant.

Addressing a gathering on Sunday, Channi said the new research center will showcase the message of three Hindu epics, which have been sources of life and inspiration for humanity.

“I was told by a very intelligent and learned person to learn a shloka of Bhagavad Gita every day to make my life meaningful and righteous. Gita preaching is unique. My current PhD will be completed in three months. Then I will study Sanskrit Will start learning and do PhD on Mahabharata.

The Chief Minister said, “This research center will act as a catalyst to disseminate the message of these epics in its simplest form among the masses, and the state government is trying to involve respected Shankaracharya ji for this ambitious project.” “

The Chief Minister further said that the state government would develop the Taposthana of Lord Parashuram ji as a marvel of state-of-the-art architecture. He said that a check of Rs 10 crore has already been handed over to the district administration and as and when required, more funds would be allocated accordingly. He said that Rs 75 lakh would also be spent on the development of the place belonging to Renuka ji, the mother of Lord Parashuram ji.

In other announcements, the CM said that the work of taking care of stray animals in the state would be entrusted to the Brahmin Welfare Board and for this the government would provide funds to the board.

Channi also launched a scathing attack on the Akalis, invoking the Hindu epic of Mahabharata, which states that the Kaurava kings were ruined because of Dhritarashtra’s putra moha (love for the son). Similarly, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) was in a shambles because of the party’s love for Sukhbir Badal, son of Akali leader Parkash Singh Badal. CM Channi said that Mahabharata is a treatise on monarchy and is relevant even today and the poor condition of Akali Dal is an example of this.

CM Channi said that the life and philosophy of Lord Parashuram teaches us that we should fight injustice with full strength irrespective of our caste, religion and profession.

The Chief Minister said that the power of the common man is the basic principle of the teachings of Lord Parashuram.

Trying to build an emotional bond with the Brahmin community, he said that the community has had a strong bond with them since its early days. After this he announced a grant of Rs 21 lakh for the Gram Panchayat of Khati.

Close Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo, Arvind Kejriwal, to know less about the state, he said that the Delhi Chief Minister was groping in the dark to satisfy his lust for power. He said that apart from being an outsider, Kejriwal is also a rumor monger who doesn’t know anything about the state but wants to be involved in everything. CM Channi said that such cheap politics will never succeed in the state.
