Punjab: AAP MP Bhagwant Mann alleged that he was offered money to join BJP

Aam Aadmi Party MP and Punjab Party President Bhagwant Mann on Sunday alleged that a senior BJP The leader had offered money to grab him and a place in the Union Cabinet.

Addressing a press conference here, Mann also alleged that the BJP was trying to woo several AAP MLAs in Punjab and they were also given similar lures.

“I was approached by a senior BJP leader who asked me how much money I would charge to join the BJP. He also said that since I am the lone AAP MP, the anti-defection law will not apply if I join the BJP and I will be offered a cabinet berth of my choice at the Centre.

The two-time Lok Sabha MP from Punjab’s Sangrur also said that he turned down the offer saying he was “on a mission and not on commission”. He said that he has raised AAP in Punjab with blood and sweat and he will not leave the party.

BJP has no stature in Punjab. Its leaders are not allowed to enter the villages because of three agricultural laws, which resulted in the death of over 700 farmers. Anyone who will have Punjab’s future in mind will not join the party which has led to the death of so many people. Lakhimpur Kheri,” he said.

Mann said that further disclosures would be made during a press conference in Delhi this evening by co-in-charge of Punjab and Delhi MLA Raghav Chadha. “The BJP has also contacted our MLAs and office bearers. More facts will come out in the press conference.

When asked the name of the BJP leader who offered him to join the party, Mann said he would do so when the time came. “The BJP has been doing this in other states like Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa and Meghalaya. They think they can do the same in Punjab. He claims that he has even broken the Congress. These are very bad signs in a democracy if parties are trying to break through money power,” he said.
