Police rescued 12 children used in labor

Rachakonda Police and Women and Child Welfare Department raided Mangalpally and rescued 12 children, including six girls. Two people have been arrested for doing child labor.

Those arrested have been identified as N Bhupesh Jain (44), a businessman from West Marredpally and Sunil Kumar (27), a labor contractor from Ibrahimpatnam.

According to the police, the children, aged 15 to 17, belonged to Chhattisgarh and Bihar and were trafficked by the suspects and detained at a shed located within the premises of the company, which manufactures disposable paper materials.

“He made the children work for more than 12 hours a day. They brought the parents of these children to Hyderabad with the lure of money. They paid them meager wages and kept them in unhygienic conditions, said a police officer.
