Pedestrian mowed down by vehicle in Norfolk County: OPP | globalnews.ca

OPP are investigating a pedestrian collision Thursday morning in Norfolk County.

Just before 7:30 a.m., police received a report of a collision on Charles Street in Simcoe, Ontario.

“We are in the early stages of the investigation and I can tell you right now that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle,” said Const. Ed Sanchuk with Norfolk County OPP.

“The bystander was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.”

According to the police, the driver remained standing on the spot.

As of 10:30 a.m., Charles Street remains closed pending the ongoing investigation.
