Pakistan has opposed India’s plan to organize some G-20 events in Kashmir to host the summit in 2023. “Pakistan completely rejects any such attempt by India,” the Pakistan Foreign Office said, adding that Jammu and Kashmir is an “internationally recognized” disputed territory.

“Consider holding of any G20-related meeting/event in J&K, in complete disregard of the globally accepted ‘controversial’ status of the region, is a ridicule which cannot be accepted by the international community under any circumstances.

“It is expected that in the case of any controversial proposal by India, which would be designed to gain international legitimacy to continue for more than seven decades, the G20 member shall be fully acquainted with the imperatives of law and justice.” and will reject it. Out-right,” it said.

Pakistan also urged the international community to ask India to annul its actions of August 5, 2019, and to free all political prisoners. “The only way for lasting peace in South Asia is to give the right of self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement said.
