OPP are investigating after an Ingersoll resident reportedly lost about $80,000 in a Bitcoin scam.

On Wednesday after 10:15 a.m., officials were called to an address on John Street for the reported fraud.

According to police, the victim lost the funds after investing in the digital currency online with an individual they met over social media.

The investigation is ongoing.
