of Ontario Auditor General will release a slate of reports on Wednesday examining topics from COVID-19 to climate change.

The Auditor General, Bonnie Lysek, serves as the province’s chief watchdog with broad powers to investigate value-for-money in Ontario’s public sector.

Lysyk’s annual report detailing 15 different areas of public spending will be tabled at the Ontario legislature on Wednesday at about 10:30 a.m.

The report set out to examine contracts awarded by the province to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as how fair, equitable and cost-effective the province’s historic vaccination campaign was.

As the Ford government moves forward with plans to build the two new highways, Lysyk will assess efforts to “reduce traffic bottlenecks and accommodate projected population and economic growth by investing in new highway projects.”

The report will include several environmental sections, one year after the release of several environmental specific reports.
