Noor murder case: Zaheer Jafar taken to court by police, lawyer says mental health ‘deteriorated’

When the judge also noted Zaheer’s absence, Akram Qureshi, the lawyer for Tahir Zahoor, the owner of TherapyWorks, informed him that Zaheer was not in a position to be able to walk.

To that, Judge Rabbani remarked that he had written a letter to the jail authorities, instructing them to conduct a medical check-up of Zaheer.

Eventually, Zaheer, who was seen hunchbacked on a chair, was taken to the courtroom by the policemen.

When Zaheer arrived, Gul said, “The mental condition of the accused has deteriorated.”

Judge Rabbani then reiterated that he had written a letter to the prison authorities, instructing him about Zaheer’s medical examination.

Meanwhile, back in the court room, Gul requests the court to issue a written order regarding Zaheer’s medical examination and treatment.

Judge Rabbani remarked, “I had already issued a written order at the last hearing.”

The counsel replied that the directions of the judge issued in the previous hearing were not implemented and hence the matter was being transferred again to the court.

The judge, however, did not respond to the request.
