No beneficiary of the Ayushman Bharat scheme has been denied treatment due to paucity of funds, the government said on Tuesday, adding that the revised budget of the scheme was cut due to low requirement or demand from states.

Responding to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Bharti Pawar said the budget estimate of the scheme for 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 was Rs 6,400 crore each year, against the revised estimate of 3,200 respectively. crore, Rs 3,100 crore and Rs 3,199 crore.

As per normal procedure, after review, the budgetary allocation is revised based on the utilization of funds. Accordingly, due to lower requirement or demand from the states, the revised estimate was reduced, it said in a written response.

As on March 7, 2022, in respect of transactions on the National Health Authority platform as well as information shared by States and UTs, about 8.74 lakh hospitalized hospitals have received admissions of Rs 30.60 crore for COVID-19 treatment. has been authorized.
