The Naval Defense Team will conduct tactical and navigation training in four Defender boats on Lake Okanagan in Kelowna, part of the Canadian Forces Base in Esquimalt, BC.

Members participating in the exercise are specially trained to provide an additional layer of land and maritime security, called enhanced force protection, to deploy to Royal Canadian Navy assets. Around 20 naval coxswains, crew members and support personnel will be involved in the exercise.

On Monday, a convoy of four defender boats and support vehicles will depart CFB Esquimalt, then make a quick stop in Hope, BC for the rest of the crew before continuing on to their destination in Kelowna.
