Mumbai: Daughter of former IPS officer YP Singh qualifies for IPS

Isha Singh, daughter of former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer-turned-lawyer YP Singh, has qualified for the IPS in the civil services examination, the result of which was declared on Friday. Isha (26) works as a lawyer with Singh and his wife Abha.

YP Singh, a 1985 batch IPS officer, had left the service a few years back and qualified as a lawyer. His wife Abha, who was in the Indian Postal Service, also quit to become a lawyer.

A student of Cathedral and John Connon School, Isha received her law degree from National Law School, Bengaluru. “My dream started when my father resigned from IPS as he stood against corruption with courage and I should continue the good fight. I like to be a lawyer and at the same time I can work for people.

His general list ranking is 133. He recently won a relief case of Rs 10 lakh each for the wives of three manual scavengers cleaning a septic tank.
