Motorcyclist killed after collision in Grafton area: Northumberland OPP – Peterborough | Globalnews.ca

OPP says a motorcyclist was killed after a collision east of Coburg, Ont., on Saturday afternoon.

According to Northumberland OPPAt approximately 12:18 a.m., emergency workers were called to a collision between a car and a motorcycle east of the village of Grafton on County Road 2 and Shelter Valley Road. Alnvik-Haldimand TownshipAbout 14 km east of Coborg city.

Police say the motorcyclist was taken to Northumberland Hills Hospital in Coburg and later pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim has not been released yet.

Police, in their initial release, said the vehicle was an e-bike, but provided an update just before 6 pm on Saturday that it was a motorcycle.

County Road 2 on Shelter Valley Road was several hours away as OPP’s technical collision investigators conducted their investigation.

The road reopened around 5:50 pm, the cause of the accident is being investigated.
