MLC elections: Shiv Sena removed the move amid controversy, fielded Sunil Shinde

Before voting for the six seats of the Legislative Council, Shiv Sena Former Worli MLA Sunil Shinde has opted out of the 2019 elections for tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray for this seat from Mumbai, and recently ousted Shiv Sena’s sitting MLA Ramdas Kadam after a controversy.

Shiv Sena sources said Shinde has been rewarded for pulling out of the 2019 polls after Aaditya Thackeray chose the Worli constituency to contest.

The formal announcement of the nominations of Shinde and Gopikishan Bajoria was made in party mouthpiece Saamana on Saturday.

Shinde was the Worli MLA between 2014 and 2019. A Shiv Sena leader said he is likely to file his nomination on Monday.

As a result of the ongoing rift between Kadam and Maharashtra Transport Minister Anil Parab, the Shiv Sena decided to drop Kadam after an audio clip of an alleged conversation between him and one of his associates went viral. In the audio clip, Kadam is heard expressing happiness after the action taken by various authorities on the alleged illegal construction on land owned by Parab in Ratnagiri and Mumbai.

in between, BJP He has fielded Rajhans Singh from the Mumbai Local Authority seat and played the North Indian card ahead of the BMC elections. Two seats in Mumbai cannot be contested as Shiv Sena has fielded Shinde and BJP has fielded Singh.

The last date for nomination is 23 November and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is 26 November. The elections will be held on December 10 and the counting of votes will take place on December 14.

Last week, the Election Commission of India announced elections for six seats of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, which will be conducted from five local authority constituencies. At present, Ramdas Kadam (Shiv Sena) and Bhai Jagtap (Congress) represent Mumbai, while Satej Patil (Congress) is elected from Kolhapur, Amrish Patel (BJP) from Dhule-Nandurbar, Gopikishan Bajoria (Shiv Sena) from Akola-Buldhana Huh. Washim and Girish Vyas (BJP) from Nagpur.
