Heated arguments, high stakes and maximum tension; Netflix’s “Drive to Survive” documentary series explores the tumultuous careers of Formula One drivers behind the scenes.
Now, the makers of the show are going behind the scenes with a very different kind of driver.
Slated to premiere on streaming service in February, promises access to all areas of life in “Full Swing” the golfers on the PGA Tour during the 2022 season – arguably the most dramatic and controversial year in the recent history of the sport.
When the series was initially announced by the PGA Tour in January 2022, promising a “unique window” into tour life, the show’s producers could count on access to box-to-box big names and guaranteed drama.
“Even the most dedicated golf fans have never seen the game like this,” said Netflix’s Vice President of Unscripted and Documentary Series Brandon Rigg.
Rigg’s words would prove prophetic. Just three months later, the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Series was announced, opening a rift in a sport that continues to fragment.

Among the most vocal voices against LIV golf has been World No. 1 Rory McIlroy, one of the big names in the series, which includes several names who have played in LIV golf events: Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, and Ian Poulter.
Justin Thomas is one of the biggest names on the series trails, and the World No. 8 joked that listeners might have got their heads over the storm to come.

“I’m excited to watch and it really couldn’t have been a better year or situation as it happened throughout the year.”
In Thomas, Scotty Scheffler and Matt Fitzpatrick, “Full Swing” is following three of the year’s four major champions.
