He died in the palliative care ward of a correctional health care institution affiliated with Archambault. the prison in Sainte-Anne-des-Plains, Ky., where he was serving a continuous life sentence.

Boucher was a distinguished organized crime boss, murderer, drug trafficker, outlaw biker and former leader of the Hells Angels Quebec chapter.

He was convicted of two counts of attempted murder and first-degree murder in 2002 after ordering the murders of two Quebec prison officers chosen at random in an attempt to destabilize the Quebec justice system.

He received a life sentence with no possibility of parole for at least 25 years. He was imprisoned in one of the few Supermax prisons in Canada.

He had been battling cancer for seven years and was shifted to palliative care on June 10. He just recently turned 69 on June 21.
