Maryam blames Imran government for lack of trust in IMF

Lahore: PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) does not trust Pakistan because of the “wrong deeds” of Imran Khan’s government.

The daughter of ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said this while addressing a rally organized to mark the launch of the by-election campaign of PML-N candidate Nazir Chauhan for PP-167 in Green Town here on Saturday.

Referring to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, he said that the IMF is treating Pakistan strictly because of the conduct of the previous government led by Imran Khan.

Maryam said that due to the faulty policies of the previous government, the present government had to take tough decisions. “I will talk about the prices of tomatoes and potatoes and will stand by the people in this difficult situation,” she said, indirectly referring to Imran Khan’s remarks that she was trying to check the prices of vegetables. did not come to power.

He said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is giving subsidy on flour, sugar, maize and other food items and if the government had enough resources, the subsidy on other items including petrol would have been increased.

He said that Imran Khan has pushed the country to the brink of bankruptcy.

“Khan stole the mandate of the people of Punjab and handed over the province to Usman Buzdar, Pinky Pirni and Farah Gogi and jeopardized its development,” he said.

“Pinky Peerni’s son Ibrahim Maneka has become a billionaire in the last four years by making a comeback in every project,” he alleged.

He said that Khan was taking revenge on the people of Punjab as he knew that he would vote for Nawaz.

He said PTI MPs who joined PML-N cannot be called lotas (turncoats) as they changed allegiance to get rid of an incompetent government to save the country from default. He said that nothing would be left of Khan’s party if Lotte was thrown out of it.

“I am aware of rising inflation and [know that] People are passing through difficult times, but we will come out of this situation soon.” He said that people should trust the government.
