Man shoots car wash worker after brawl over vacuum in Bronx

VAN NEST, BRONX (WABC) – A car wash worker speaks and tells his story after he was shot on the job following a dispute over a vacuum.

The incident took place on October 17 at the B&G Car Wash on East Tremont Avenue.

The suspect, trying to clear his own vehicle, approached the 26-year-old employee.

It should have been a quiet conversation, but it got heated when the victim told the person it cost $10 but the suspect argued it was $5.

“He was angry because he thought I was trying to make him look cheap,” the victim said.

The man left in a fit of rage and returned 30 minutes later, showing the gun and shooting the victim.

“He didn’t say anything,” the victim said. “I saw the gun before I shot, he pulled out the gun, he shouted ‘Yo Boss Man,’ then I looked up and saw the gun.”

He suffered a leg injury and there was chaos as the suspect fled.

The victim is lucky that she is alive and still recovering.

“Sometimes it is difficult for me to bend my leg or stand for a while,” the victim said. “It’s the crazy world I live in, always having to watch your back.”

The victim says he plans to come to work and that’s exactly what he will be doing – and is looking over his shoulder.
