Baltimore (WJZ) Harford County Public Schools said Magnolia Elementary School in Japantown was closed early Tuesday after a transformer exploded.
The Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company tweeted a photo of the equipment engulfed in flames and said firefighters are waiting for employees with Baltimore Gas & Electric to turn off the power so they can put out the fire. According to the fire department, no casualties have been reported.

The school system said that students and staff have been transferred to Magnolia Middle School. Parents who can pick up their children early are asked to bring them in from middle school as soon as possible.
If parents or guardians are unable to pick up their children, primary school students will return home on regular bus transport at the normal dismissal time.
