London Police did not consider the death of a woman found in the Thames suspicious in nature – London | Globalnews.ca

London police have been investigating since a woman’s body was retrieved from there the river Thames Near the downtown core early Wednesday, however, investigators say they do not consider the case to be of a suspicious nature.

Police were called to the scene around 12:30 p.m. in the River Thames Valley Parkway between the King Street Pedestrian Bridge and York Street.

“A man was located in the river and the man was found dead,” London Police spokesman Const. Sandasha Boff said at the scene on Wednesday.

Little information has been released, however, as police revealed on Thursday that the deceased man was confirmed to be a woman.

Police said no other identifying information has been made public nor will a kin notification be issued.

“The investigation has been reassigned to the members of our principal crime section…. We are appealing to the public. If you have any information that may assist us with this investigation, please contact us,” Boff said.

Investigators closed a section of Thames Valley Parkway and Thames Street north of York for investigations, but have since reopened.
