Casnighi was troubled by the issue as he stated that the company with which he contracted had convinced him that the purpose of his hiring was to raise his profile as a model in its own right.

He said, “It’s ridiculous because the Met Gala and a company I’m not going to mention… want models to work the red carpet.”

“They want people to pay attention to them. They literally told me, ‘We picked you because we like you more than the other guys.’

“But when people took pictures of actual celebrities, like Kylie Jenner, and I was next to them, of course I got into the picture.”
