Lahore Police has been given a week to trace his wife Dua Zahra

Lahore: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday granted a week to the police to produce Syeda Dua Johra Kazmi and her husband, the kidnapped girl from Karachi.

Earlier, a police officer had told the court that the last abode of the fledgling couple was Azad Kashmir. He said more time is needed to reach out to the couple and produce them in court.

Justice Tariq Salim Shaikh was hearing a petition filed by Zohra’s mother-in-law and brother-in-law against the alleged harassment by the police.

A lawyer for the petitioners said that their clients had no idea about the whereabouts of the couple, but the police were harassing them. The judge adjourned the hearing for a week and directed the police to produce the couple in court.

In the previous litigation, Zohra had alleged before the court that her father was forcing her to marry her cousin against her wishes. She said that her parents used to beat her for refusing to marry a boy of her choice. She asked the court to order the police to take action against her parents for torturing her and her husband.
