Kitchener Center MPP Laura Mae Lindo resigns, joins staff at University of Waterloo Globalnews.ca

Kitchener Center MPP laura may lindo has announced she is resigning her seat in an open letter posted on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

NDP MPP says she will pursue a role in philosophy department University of Waterloo this summer.

“I did not make this decision lightly,” said Lindow. “Due to a number of systemic factors and the need to be more present for my family as we continue our healing after a challenging 2022, this is a new It’s time to transition into place is what I’ve learned.”

Lindo, who was re-elected to a second term in office last year, was first elected as the MPP for Kitchener Center in 2018.

“I am humbled by the trust the people of Kitchener have placed in me over the years,” the note concluded.

The NDP released a release thanking Lindow for his time in office.

NDP Interim Leader Peter Tabans said, “Laura Mae has been an integral member of our NDP team, and has been a tireless advocate for people in Kitchener Center and across the province.”

“We thank him for his years of work serving his constituents and making Ontario a better, more just place for everyone, and for his work as chair of the Ontario NDP Black Caucus.”
