Kangana Ranaut calls out Bollywood for its silence on The Kashmir Files’ box office performance: ‘Bullydawood aur unke chamche sadme mein chale gaye hai’

On Sunday, Kangana Ranaut praised The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri, Kangana said that the film’s performance at the box office has shattered the myths and preconceived notion about the kind of films that will work at the box office in the post-pandemic phase. The actor also took a dig at Bollywood for being silent on the success of The Kashmir Files.

The actor wrote a long note on Instagram, which read, “Please note the pin drop silence regarding The Kashmir Files in the film industry. Not only the material, its business is also exemplary. The investment-to-profit ratio can be such a case study that this will be the most successful and profitable film of the year. It also busted several myths that theaters are exclusive to big budget event films or visual/VFX glasses post-pandemic. It is busting every myth and preconceived notion that was about to bring the audience back to the theatres. The shows at six in the morning in multiplexes get full. this is incredible! Bulidoud and his champs are left in shock. not a word. The whole world is watching, but still not a single word. Their time is up.”

Kangana Ranaut said that the film is earning well without any “cheap publicity”. She said it was not even reflecting the “fake number”. “If the country changes, it will change in the film too. Jai Hind,” wrote the actor as he shared a screenshot of film trade analyst Taran Adarsh’s tweet on The Kashmir Files’ box office performance.

“The Kashmir Files has shattered the box office, today’s numbers would be unbelievable, much more than the entire budget of the film. The conscience of India is finally waking up. Vande Mataram,” he concluded.

The Kashmir Files is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the early 1990s due to insurgency and terrorism. The film has earned Rs 12.05 crore in just two days.
