April 22, 2010 – one in Los Angeles Times article, Mitchell describes suffering from a “strange, incurable disease” called Morgellons, She describes the symptoms as “fibres in various colors pop out of my skin like mushrooms after a thunderstorm: they cannot be forensically identified as animal, vegetable, or mineral.”

31 March 2015 – Michelle has been hospitalized after being found unconscious at her Los Angeles home.

June 2015 – A mentor to Michelle has issued a statement saying the musician suffered a brain aneurysm but is expected to make a full recovery.

February 15, 2016 – “Love Has Many Faces: A Quartet, A Ballet, Waiting to Be Dance” won a Grammy for Best Album Notes.

August 20, 2016 – Attends a Chick Korea concert in Los Angeles; This is the first time he has been seen in public since a brain aneurysm.

October 10, 2017 – David Yaffe’s biography “Reckless Daughter: A Portrait of Joni Mitchell”, is published a week later in Canada and the United States. The book is based on personal interviews with Michelle, as well as her childhood friends and famous peers, which inspired many of her most famous songs.

November 6-7, 2018 – Artists gather at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles to celebrate Michelle’s 75th birthday. The lineup includes Emmylo Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Graham Nash, James Taylor, Rufus Wainwright and Brandi Carlyle.
