Israel steps up demolition of Palestinian homes in Jerusalem, West Bank

RAMALLAH: Israeli authorities are stepping up their demolition of Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem and parts of the West Bank following a policy drawn up by extreme right-wing ministers in the country’s new government, local leaders say.
On Wednesday, Israeli bulldozers tore down buildings in Jerusalem’s Sur Baher, Wadi al-Hamas and Silwan neighborhoods. Rights activists urged people to publicly condemn the demolition by posting messages on social media sites such as Twitter using the hashtag #Stop_Demolishing_Jerusalem.
