Independent investigation finds AMC Grand Chief sexually assaulted at workplace – Winnipeg | Globalnews.ca

The House of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC) says an independent investigation has found Grand Chief Arlene Dumas engaging in sexual harassment at the workplace.

The investigation began in March 2022 following a complaint by an AMC staff member against the chief.

Dumas was suspended without pay until the results of the investigation came out.

According to the AMC, his suspension will remain in effect until a special assembly chief’s meeting, where a vote will take place to remove Dumas as Grand Chief.

The AMC says that the details revealed during the investigation will not be made public.

In a release, the organization says, “AMC is committed to reflecting on and reviewing its workplace policies and practices to ensure that the organization fosters a culture of support and respect.”
