Happy Birthday Sourav Ganguly: Dada plans to reduce workload after 50th birthday – India Times Hindi News

Kolkata: Fifty years of life certainly call for celebration, which is why it is called the year of Silver Jubilee. And if the BCCI President is celebrating, it should be the talk of the town.

After scoring 79 half-centuries in international cricket, Sourav Ganguly, the last surviving legend of Bengali, is now ready to step into life after a half-century. The festivities have begun in the presence of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who is one of Ganguly’s closest friends throughout his cricketing career. Meanwhile, the grandfather along with his daughter Sana celebrated her birthday by cutting a special cake at their London residence.

After completing her schooling in Kolkata, Sana has gone to London for her higher education. The celebration of his residence also saw a trip down memory lane which included his famous shirt against England in the 2002 NatWest Series final at Lord’s. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and Vice President Rajiv Shukla also attended his pre birthday party.

Ganguly had already planned his birthday in private with his family members. He also said that he will gradually reduce the work pressure after his 50th birthday.

Interestingly, Ganguly’s club Barisha Players Corner is also celebrating the Silver Jubilee of Durga Puja this year. Keeping in mind the relevance of the year, the Durga Puja committee has kept their theme as Maharaja 50-at-50. Sourav and his family are whole heartedly attached to this puja from the very beginning.
