Police identified the victim as Ritika Singh (30), a Ghaziabad-based fashion blogger who died after she was allegedly pushed from a building in Agra on Friday. Officials said the police have arrested the woman’s husband and two others.
The woman was allegedly living with her live-in partner when her husband Akash Gautam confronted her. Officials said the two had an argument after which Akash and his family members allegedly tied Ritika’s hands and threw her from the balcony of the apartment.
“We received information that a woman died after falling from the fourth floor of a building in Nagla Mewati area. During investigation, it was found that she was living in a flat with another person. Her husband came along with his family members, a clash broke out between the two and she was later pushed from the building. He has suffered fatal injuries. The husband and two others have been arrested,” said Sudhir Kumar Singh, SSP Agra.
Officials said that the woman was living with her friend Vipul at Omshree Apartment for the last one and a half years. She married Akash in 2014. Later the couple shifted from Ghaziabad to Firozabad, where Ritika befriended Vipul. Facebook, Police said the two became close and decided to stay in a flat in Agra.
He said that the husband came to know about Ritika’s whereabouts and went to the flat with his relatives on Friday. Akash and other co-accused beat up both Vipul and Ritika and tied their hands and feet. He pushed Ritika from the fourth floor and she suffered a head injury. He was declared brought dead on being taken to the nearest hospital.
Ritika runs a fashion, lifestyle and travel blogging social media account and has more than 44,000 followers on Instagram.
