Gujarat: Choudhary Wajahat Hussain, younger brother of PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, on Friday announced the launch of a new political party in the country.

Chowdhary Wajahat explained the reason for his decision, saying, “Tariq Bashir Cheema has divided our family while Chowdhary Shujaat Hussain has been taken hostage by his sons.”

He alleged that Shujaat’s son Chaudhry Salik Hussain was demanding dollars from PPP co-chair Asif Ali Zardari, adding that Salik had nothing to do with Gujarat politics.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain is the father of PML-Q rebel MNA Chaudhry Hussain Elahi.

On 8 June, Chaudhry Hussein Elahi announced his departure from the PML-Q.

Hussain tweeted, “I have always said that my country is first for me and keeping this in mind I have decided that my political journey with PML-Q must end.”

He said he cannot be in a party that supports the “imported government” led by Shehbaz Sharif.

The PML-Q is divided into Shujaat and Parvez Elahi groups. One group is supporting the coalition government at the Center while the group led by Elahi is with PTI.
