Gaya station to become world class, Rs 300 crore to be spent on station redevelopment – Rail Hunt – Bharat Times English News

Patna. Tender has been issued after the final framework has been prepared to make Gaya station important from religious and tourism point of view. The redevelopment work of Gaya station will be completed at an estimated cost of about Rs.300 crore and it is targeted to be completed by the end of the year 2024. After the completion of the redevelopment work, passengers will get world class facilities like airport. After the redevelopment, the capacity of serving passengers at Gaya station will increase three times.

Giving the station a world-class look, the station will be given the form of a green building, while equipping the stations with state-of-the-art facilities, where there will be adequate arrangements for ventilation etc. Access control gates will be installed at the station and escalators and lifts will be installed on each platform, so that passengers get convenience in moving from one platform to another. The essential facilities provided to the passengers will include food, washroom, drinking water, ATM, internet etc. This will especially benefit senior citizens along with common passengers.

After redevelopment, the arrival and departure building will be constructed under separate arrangements for arrival and departure of railway passengers at Gaya station and a separate building will be constructed for the pilgrims. The entry and exit gates of the station will be such that passengers do not face congestion. There will be 2.35 times more space available for main station building and 4.9 times more space for parking area as compared to present.

Along with this, additional 6400 sqm concourse area for waiting room, total 23 lifts and 11 escalator facilities at the station, upgradation of existing 3100 sqm platform area and FOB, additional ticketing facility, handicap friendly facilities, solar panels on station building for green energy There will be provision, provision of rain water harvesting, water recycling plant, solid waste management and fire fighting etc.

12 stations of East Central Railway will become world class

Under the station redevelopment project, a total of 12 stations of East Central Railway such as Rajendranagar and Buxar of Danapur division, Muzaffarpur, Begusarai and Barauni of Sonpur division, Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, Bapudham Motihari Pt. Gaya and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Jn of Dayal Upadhyay Mandal and Dhanbad and Singrauli of Dhanbad Mandal have been selected. The process for redevelopment of these stations has been started.
