Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has his eye on a new role: 007.
in an interview with Sir, Johnson said he now wants to play the famed secret agent with a license to kill, while Daniel Craig’s tenure as the character has ended.
“I want to follow in his footsteps and be the next Bond,” Johnson told Esquire.
He said he has no desire to play one of the iconic bad guys who have graced the film series since its inception in 1962.
“I don’t want to be the villain,” he said. “You have to be Bond.”
Many men have portrayed the British icon, including Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and Craig.
Craig, who has held the role since 2006, completed his final appearance with “No Time to Die,” released last month.
In the interview, Johnson touched on a number of topics beyond Bond, mentioning that he pees in bottles during his workouts.
He said that the gyms where he works out often do not have toilets, so instead he uses old water bottles to relieve himself.
“This is not a water bottle that I actually bought purely for the water that you wash and clean when you’re done using it. These are just bottles I’m not using anymore ,” They said.
