Former NFL player found dead in Leavenworth prison

KANSS CITY, MO (KCTV) — A former Kansas City majors player died Thursday at Federal Prison in Leavenworth.

Junior Siyavi, 43, was found unresponsive in his cell on Thursday afternoon, according to the US Department of Justice.

Siyavi was taken to a local hospital, but the staff there declared him brought dead.

Officials say no staff or prisoners were in danger at any time during the situation. Siyavi was in jail after being charged with firearms charges.

He played for two seasons of Chiefs, which was released in 2006.
