Enfamil owners will import baby formula into the US to help reduce shortages

Reckitt Benckiser Groupe Plc is to import infant-formula powder into the US from a facility in Singapore, the largest contribution ever from a manufacturer aimed at reducing formula shortages across the country.

The owner of Enfamil said it would ship 66 million 8-ounce bottles the equivalent of base infant formula powder between now and November—enough to feed an average of more than 130,000 babies a month. The powder is set to begin shipping this month to a facility in Minnesota, where it will be mixed and packaged for distribution.
