Dump truck knocked down several useful poles in Kitchener: Waterloo Police | Globalnews.ca

According to Waterloo Regional Police, a Kitchener man has been charged after several utility poles collapsed in Kitchener following a collision with a dump truck in Kitchener on Tuesday afternoon.

They say the dump truck was exiting a private driveway near Deer Ridge Drive and King Street East, whose box was lifted around noon, when it became entangled with utility wires.

According to the police, four poles and a light post were toppled due to the entanglement.

They say that as soon as officials and utility teams arrived at the scene, the driver remained inside the vehicle until it was confirmed there was no danger.

The police have not reported any casualties in the collision. He says there was no outage either.

Police say Highway 8 leading to King Street was forced to close and traffic was delayed near the scene for several hours.
