Delhi: Officers coming late, police chief leaving early issued orders

Observing that officers are not reporting to the office on time, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana has ordered that the attendance register be carefully maintained, personnel arrive by 9.30 am, and mark their departure attendance before 6 pm. Do it.

An order issued by DCP (Police Headquarters-II) RP Meena on November 23 said, “In today’s tea meeting, the Commissioner of Police has observed that the line officers do not come to office on time and leave much earlier than usual. Huh. working hours. Heads of all branches in Police Headquarters should ensure that the Attendance Register is maintained as per the guidelines of the Government. The employees will report to the office by 9.30 am and enclose their initials with the time of arrival.

When contacted, Delhi Police spokesperson Chinmoy Biswal declined to comment on the order.

The order further said, “All employees should observe COVID-appropriate behavior and follow the instructions to wear the uniform. It is everyone’s responsibility to maintain cleanliness in the office/branch as well as in the common areas. Discipline and decorum are expected from all those on duty.

“Similarly, employees will also mark their departure attendance before 6 pm. If any person is allowed to appear late or leave early, an entry to this effect shall be made by the Branch In-charge in the ‘Remarks’ column. Any such permission for any consecutive period would require the permission of the DCP concerned. At the end of each fortnight, the concerned ACP will bring to the notice of the DCP concerned the names of persons who came frequently or habitually late during the particular fortnight. The DCP shall submit a report on the attendance status to the Additional CP, Joint CP once in a month,” Meena further adds in the order.

The decision to issue the order has been taken after receiving some officers arriving late at 11.30 am and leaving after 4 pm.
