DANIPS officer posted as DCP in Delhi has been suspended from duty in forgery-cheating case

A 2009 batch DANIPS officer posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Delhi’s Armed Police Unit has been suspended for allegedly using forged education and birth documents while appearing for the UPSC examination.

The CBI had registered a case of alleged impersonation, cheating, forgery etc. against the DCP in 2020.

A GNCTD order dated June 10 said that the complainant in the case alleged that the DCP used documents relating to educational qualification and date of birth belonging to another person of the same name. “He (DCP) became eligible to appear in UPSC and benefited from age relaxation. Chargesheet has been filed by CBI against (DCP), DANIPS-2009,” the order reads.

After the charge sheet and departmental inquiry, the officials found that the DCP was allegedly involved in forgery and cheating. He has been suspended from duty and asked to report to NCT Headquarters.
