Murali Sreeshankar won a silver medal in the men’s long jump at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games on Thursday as the 23-year-old jumped 8.08m in his fifth attempt to finish the seventh day.

Sreeshankar from Palakkad, Kerala, finished second behind Lakhan Nair of the Bahamas in the men’s long jump final. Nair also had a best jump of 8.08m, but his second best of 7.98m was better than Sreeshankar’s 7.84m.
