The health department on Thursday said that the state is managing 12,728 active cases.

Thursday marks the biggest spike in Victoria’s daily cases in more than a month, after 1,471 cases were reported on 1 November.

The state reported 1,179 cases on Wednesday, 918 new cases on Tuesday, 1,007 on Monday and 1,060 on Sunday.

There are 288 patients in state hospitals, of whom 41 are in intensive care and 20 require ventilation.

The average seven-day hospitalization is 293.

Virus testers processed 70,343 results on Wednesday, while 4019 people were vaccinated at government centres.

About 91 percent of Victorians over the age of 12 are fully vaccinated.
