Colombo: Crisis-hit Sri Lanka on Sunday announced weekly fuel quotas for motorists, as a severe shortage worsened and long queues continued outside some pumping stations.
Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said the state-run Ceylon Petroleum Corporation is struggling to finance oil imports, while a lack of electricity and liquefied petroleum gas has pushed up consumption.
