Calgary Nose Hill MP Michelle Rampel Garner She is speaking publicly for the first time since she announced online that she would not run for leadership for the United Conservative Party of Alberta.

On June 15, Rempel Garner announced on social media that she was considering running for Premier Jason Kenney’s job as leader of the UCP.

Rampel Garner has long been seen as a star within the CPC, but has not spoken publicly since his decision not to run for the UCP leadership.

In an interview at a getaway breakfast in Calgary on Saturday, the politician avoided any questions about his views on Brown being disqualified from the CPC leadership campaign for wrongdoing charges.

However, she denied any knowledge of the alleged issues when she turned away from helping Brown’s campaign.

“I’m very excited to see the leadership race attracting nearly 700,000 members, and I think it’s a sign of a strong party and our ability to form a government at the next election,” said Rempel Garner.

Duane Bratt, professor of political science at Mount Royal University, said there are many questions that remain unanswered.

“Michelle Rampel Garner has not spoken publicly about Patrick Brown,” he said. “Did he have doubts? Did he think it was coming when he pulled out of the campaign? What’s the connection between what was going on in the Patrick Brown campaign and his decision not to run for UCP? So many There are questions from which have not been answered in one way or the other.

“You would think that a campaign president would have some sense of how the campaign was going.”

As far as who she supports now in the race for the UPC leadership, Rempel Garner has remained silent about it.

“I think it’s early days in that race,” she said.

“I have interacted with many leadership candidates. Many of them are longtime friends of mine.”

Brown has said that he was not given details about the allegations leveled against him by the party.
