Minneapolis (WCCO) — A 33-year-old Wright County man has been charged with six felony counts for allegedly sexually abusing a child who was 18 months old at the time.
A complaint has been filed against Michael Edmund Richmond following a search warrant at his home in Buffalo. Among the objects found were videos and screen shots showing a man sexually assaulting a child by Richmond, who is now 3 years old. The images were scheduled to be taken when Richmond was reportedly staying at a friend’s home, and investigators believe the victim was his daughter.
Forensic analysts determined that, in addition to those videos, more than 100 other videos and more than 1,000 photos of suspected child pornography were also found on the hard drive.
Investigators say Richmond allegedly tried to remove the video years ago after he was accused of molesting another child. The hard drive contained tax information and other identifying information tied to Richmond.
The complaint said the hard drive that held the contents contained two folders – one “heaven” and the other “hell”. The latter is where investigators believe Richmond stored the illegal images.
The charges Richmond now faces include first-degree criminal sexual conduct with an underage man and using minors in an obscene act.
