BTS ARMY furious with Jimmy Kimmel after comparing band’s popularity to Covid-19 spread: ‘Disgusting…’

bts ARMY is fiercely protective of the K-pop sensation, and recent comments from late night TV host Jimmy Kimmel about the band and their popularity didn’t go down too well. In his recent episode, Jimmy Kimmel likened the frenzy around boy bands to COVID-19, During an appearance by singer and actor Ashley Park, which aired on January 21, Jimmy Kimmel took a dig at the fangirling he made after being spotted by BTS.

Jimmy Kimmel mentioned BTS’s presence on the show and also explained how ARMY camped out before their arrival. He continued by saying, “They may still be in the parking lot” and commented on how fans need to be careful as they “might attack”. Upon hearing that Ashley Parks herself was ARMY, she said, “Then you will not be attacked”.

When he explained his feelings as a fan, he detailed how the BTS members opened up their personal Instagram accounts just in time for the second season of “Emily in Paris.” The late-night show host commented on how “not even Donald Trump is allowed to do this” referring to the suspension of the former US president’s account. Ashley also revealed that she was speechless when RM and V reacted to her cover of Dynamite, adding that ‘she was unable to move or speak’. Then, she said she was diagnosed omicron Version of the COVID-19 virus to which Jimmy Kimmel said, “You thought it was BTS fever”. He said, “They are both very dangerous. You are lucky to come out alive.”

ARMY is furious with his comments and has reacted to the video, saying, “Jimmy Kimmel could have kept his racism and malfeasance – although saying that the group is as dangerous as COVID is disgusting. His fans are called ‘crazy’ or ‘crazy’. No need to refer to that as ‘attacking’ – would you say that to football fans Jimmy?”

Another wrote, “And you know they’ll excuse it as a joke and deranged fans and attacked everyone instead of just accepting the subtle attacks and casual racism the western media is doing on BTS. Jimmy Kimmel I’m Depressed ,Bruh! Yu didn’t need to compare him to any disease. I’m sick of American interviewers comparing their idols to a disease or COVID. But Ashley you just rock… I am so proud of you,” wrote another.

“It’s strange that those ‘dangerous’ ones have actually given many people a reason to live, transmitting a message through their music that we hope to keep going,” said one. Another wrote, “I’m so tired of comparing Americans to Asians coronavirus, and the fact that they get away with it because it was a ‘joke’. You knew very well what you were doing. If you can act, you may have to face the consequences.”

BTS hasn’t commented on this yet. Last time around, James Corden faced the wrath of fans when he called the fantasy ’15 year old girls’.
