British luxury supercar maker McLaren Automotive confirms foray into India – India Times English News

British luxury supercar maker McLaren Automotive today confirmed its imminent entry into the major Indian market, the brand’s 41st global arena. With the opening of McLaren Mumbai’s first retail outlet in October, McLaren’s arrival in India marks the marque’s global expansion plan and expands the brand’s growing presence in the Asia Pacific region. McLaren’s range of supercars and hypercars are designed at the prestigious McLaren Technology Center and adjacent to the McLaren Production Center in Woking, Surrey, both south of London. Racer, engineer and entrepreneur Bruce McLaren founded the company nearly six decades ago.

Slated to formally open in Mumbai in the third quarter for 2022, the first retail presence in the country will provide the immersive McLaren brand experience with a direct window into Woking, where each McLaren is built by hand. It will provide customers with a full level of support, offering sales, after sales and servicing on the full range of McLaren models.

The supercar maker will be offering the breadth of its model range to Indian customers including the McLaren GT and the marque’s first high-performance hybrid – the Artura. The core supercar range includes the acclaimed 720S coming in Coupe and Spyder variants as well as the 765LT Coupe and Spyder as the latest additions to the LT product family.

“We welcome Lalit Choudhary of McLaren Mumbai to the expanding retailer network in the Asia Pacific region. India continues to be an important market where our fans and select customers can enjoy the best of McLaren in Mumbai. Looking ahead, we will soon welcome the Artura, the all-new high-performance hybrid supercar in India,” said Paul Harris, Managing Director – APAC & China, McLaren Automotive.
