BJP Vice President DK Aruna meets Tollywood veteran filmmaker KV Vijayendra Prasad – India Times Hindi News

Veteran Tollywood screenwriter and director KV Vijayendra Prasad was nominated to the Rajya Sabha on 6 July. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice President DK Aruna met the veteran filmmaker on July 12 and congratulated him. She met Vijayendra Prasad at his residence in Hyderabad.

DK Aruna shared some pictures on Twitter and wrote, “Had a cordial meeting with Shri KV Vijayendra Prasad Garu and congratulated him on his nomination as Rajya Sabha MP.”

He said that Mata Jogulamba bless him with a very purposeful and successful tenure as a member of the Upper House.

Prasad is the father of filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who has given India’s biggest blockbusters like the Baahubali franchise and RRR. However, Prasad is the main mind behind these two films as he wrote the scripts.

Prasad was born in Kovvur, Andhra Pradesh. He has given many record breaking films to Indian cinema like Mersal, RRR, Bahubali series and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. These films not only broke box office collection records in their respective years but were also critically acclaimed.

The veteran screenwriter wrote his first film, Janaki Ramudu, starring Nagarjuna in 1988. He made his directorial debut in 1996 with the feature film Ardhangi. He has won several awards for his stories, including the 2016 Filmfare Award for Story for Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

With Prasad, music maestro Ilaiyaraaja, play Icon PT Usha and spiritual leader and philanthropist Virendra Hegde were also nominated as members of the Rajya Sabha under the Presidential quota.
