BJP is bringing workers from Gujarat to spread rumours, hatred: Akhilesh Yadav

Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav alleged on Sunday BJP “Importing workers from Gujarat” to train its cadre in Uttar Pradesh to spread “hatred and rumours”. He asked the Election Commission (EC) to take cognizance of the matter and send back such workers, failing which, he claimed that elections cannot be fair.

The former chief minister made the remarks while addressing the media after inducting former state minister Dara Singh Chouhan and Apna Dal (Sonelal) MLA RK Verma, representing Vishwanathganj constituency of Pratapgarh district, into the party.

“Who does not know that the people of Gujarat have already come to UP? … I will appeal to the Election Commission. None of my workers have come from the following states [Covid] Whatever the protocols have come from other states, they should be sent back,” Yadav said.

“I will release pictures which will prove that the people of Gujarat have trained here to spread hatred and lies in UP,” he said.

A day after the Election Commission issued a notice to the SP general secretary for alleged violation of the model code of conduct and COVID-19 At a meeting outside the party office in Lucknow on Friday, Akhilesh looked alert and made sure every leader present on the stage wore a mask.
