Baby Gear Rental Startup Loop Hires Former Glossier Marketing Chief as CEO

The Loop Company, a Baby Equipment Rental Company, Has Hired a Former Glossier Inc. Ali Weiss, Chief Marketing Officer, will be its Chief Executive Officer. She will replace Henry Vogel, founder of Loop and co-founder and managing partner of venture-capital firm DVx Ventures. Launched and provided seed funding for the company.

Ms. Weiss said her experience as a top marketer at a fast-growing startup will be useful in her role at Loop.

“Ultimately, the best CMOs are intrinsically consumer-focused,” she said. “They make all their decisions…consumer-first, customer-first. For us at Loop, it’s member-first.

The company plans to hire a Marketing Leader who will report to Ms. Weiss.

That figure includes sales of baby products like furniture. , car seats and strollers, but not from retailers that primarily sell toys or clothing.

While some rental competitors focus on equipment such as strollers and car seats for travel, Loop wants to focus on items for consumers’ homes, Ms. Weiss said.

According to Ms. Weiss, the company’s rentals may appeal to parents who want to reduce clutter or their environmental impact.

Ms Weiss said baby gear and toys “have a very long useful life out in the world, but a very short useful life in the home because babies are growing and changing so rapidly.”

Loop plans to expand over the next year to geographies that have yet to be determined.

“Our vision is that we are going to be able to provide this service in multiple markets, multiple cities, multiple metro areas across the United States,” Ms. Weiss said.

He added that the company also sees an opportunity to start offering products for older children.
